Banana Bread


This is a old family recipe. I haven't made a banana bread recipe I like better then this one. Thanks mom.

2 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
4 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt.
4 cups mashed bananas
1/2 chopped nuts
4 cups flour
  1. Cream together the sugar, vanilla, and shortening.
  2. Mix in the eggs one at a time.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour soda, and salt.
  4. Add the bananas alternating with the flour and then add the nuts.
  5. Bake at 375 in 3 loaf 9x5 inch pans that have been greased and floured for 50-55 minutes.
If you want slightly smaller loaves, then bake in 4 loaf pans for about 45 minutes. Cut and enjoy.
