"I Want to Marry You" Cookies

I made these cookies for my visiting teaching sisters. They are so good. I found them here.

1 cup butter
1 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup chocolate chips

  1. In a medium sauce pan, melt the butter over medium heat until melted. Remove from the heat.
  2. Add the dark brown sugar and the whit sugar and stir until the sugars and well incorporated and smooth. Chill the mixture for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from the fridge, and stir in the egg, egg yolk and vanilla.
  4. Add the flour. oats, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon and mix together.
  5. Stir in the white and chocolate chips.
  6. Roll by hand into medium sized balls or use a cookie scoop. And place on a light colored cookie sheet. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 325. Remove the cookies from the fridge and bake for 12-14 minutes. Makes 48 cookies.
