Spice Cake

I'm not sure where my mom got this recipe, but it is one of my favorite spice cakes.

1 1/4 cup of flour
1 cup of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of all spice
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
1/4 cup of cornstarch
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of water
1 tablespoon of vinegar
1/3 cup of oil



  1. Preheat the oven to 350.
  2. Mix together all the dry ingredients in bowl.
  3. Add in the vinegar, oil and water.
  4. grease a 7x11 inch pan.
  5. Pour batter in the pan, and bake for 30 minutes and let it cool to room temperature.
  6. Frost with either cream cheese frosting or butter cream frosting. Yum
